Lynn Issa is a Syrian visual artist based in Sharjah, UAE. Her work largely explores the female body as a site of tension, shaped by societal expectations and internalized perceptions. Through exaggerated forms that fill her compositions and emphasize heaviness and fullness, her work comments on the psychological weight carried by women, particularly within conservative social contexts. Her paintings and drawings challenge rigid beauty standards while inviting reflection on the boundaries between visibility and internal experience. Through expressive mark-making and thoughtful application of muted colours, her compositions play with perspective, using the female form as a focal point.
Issa has participated in group exhibitions in Syria and Iraq. In 2021 and 2022 she also created murals and facilitated art workshops as part of Mashta al Helu Cultural Festival in Syria.
