Yara Chaalan

Yara Chaalan, is a Lebanese multidisciplinary artist working with painting, embroidery, and video. She graduated with a Bachelor in Fine Arts from the Lebanese American University in Beirut and holds a Masters in Visual Arts and Post-Contemporary Practice from the Masters Institute in Visual Cultures, Den Bosch, Netherlands.

Her practice explores the body as a landscape, a shifting terrain shaped by migration, memory, and the emotional complexity of home. Through oil paint, watercolor, stitched surfaces, and video, she merges her own figure with the landscapes of Lebanon to construct visual spaces that hold nostalgia, longing, trauma, and the tension of belonging.

Yara lives and works in Dubai.
