Fares Jammal and Wissam Moubarak are childhood friends. The former has grown to be a renowned photographer, and the latter a multidisciplinary architect. When both joined forces, it was a natural quest for them to tackle nostalgia and remembrance, and to create a work that embodied their common and complementary skills and visions.
While Jamal was reveling his series of photographs in the dark room, Mobarak was there to swipe onto the negative image his brush strokes. The outcome was eerie monochromatic plasticity, breaking the rules of time, taking still photography into another dimension.
The artistic and unique exchange between the two artist is called “Insights to Nature” which showcases exclusive pieces of art, each being a unique production; impulsively perfected mix of photography and painting on photosensitive panchromatic paper. Photographer Fares Jamal has his studios in Dubai and Beirut, where he has his own permanent art gallery exhibiting his works.
Creative designer and architect Wissam Moubarak is a partner in Hawini, a Lebanese product-design firm. Moubarak has participated in many large-scale product design creations and exhibitions.
