Fann À Porter is delighted to return to Abu Dhabi Art for its 17th Edition. We will be debuting new works by our represented artists Ahmad Kasha, Arda Aslanian and Khaled Jarada. Our presentation brings together their distinct voices and highlights their current explorations within their practices.
Ahmad Kasha (b. 1997, Syria) debuts a series of new acrylic paintings on canvas that mark a progression in his signature technique of uncanny color palettes and textured brushwork. He departs from his previous strictly figurative work toward a visual language that merges abstraction with subtle suggestions of figures—evoking animals, flesh, or beings suspended in noise and tension.

Arda Aslanian (b. 1981, Jordan) reveals a series of new oil paintings, depicting monochromatic, slightly abstracted drapes that fill the canvas. In primary red, cobalt and muted gray, she continues investigating the rhythm, shape, and movement of drapery. The new works have a magnetic presence that evoke curiosity and a sense of mystery. Our presentation brings the new works in dialogue with her 2023 painting Cascade and two charcoal drawings from the same year which portray a greenhouse, though with a similar softness and theatricality of the drapes.
Waiting Rituals by Khaled Jarada (b. 1996, Palestine) is a collection of new, large scale charcoal drawings that dissect the everyday objects, gestures, motions and unconscious reflexes of a body in a chronic state of waiting: waiting for the metro, his residency card, his mom to call, the war to end... he returns to his inner world of a bedroom, a couch, a living room, to contemplate the experience of waiting for change. Our presentation also showcases older works which take the form of an animation strip, similarly showing figures in a state of flux.
